A theme setup with prepared product data is different from a custom storefront, a catalogue migration or a marketplace workflow. List the page types, product variants, collection structure and content you already have. Identify which parts use a standard layout and which need custom behaviour.
Give the developer a few representative products, including the most complicated one. This makes it easier to discuss image preparation, descriptions, variants and the amount of manual setup before agreeing a price.
Separate one-time and recurring costs
The developer quote covers agreed implementation work. Shopify subscription charges, optional paid themes, apps and payment-related charges should be listed separately. Check Shopify pricing directly for the current plan and billing terms; an advertised price in another region is not automatically your complete Pakistan store budget.
Shopify explains that third-party transaction fees depend on the plan and payment setup. Confirm your provider, country eligibility and settlement arrangements before treating payment acceptance as solved.
Custom features need their own acceptance checks
In my Loto.pk work, the scope included a marketplace option, seller product submissions and a WhatsApp number that changes for the relevant seller. Those features require agreement about who submits products, which details shoppers see and how contact routing is checked. They should not be assumed to be part of every Shopify setup.
For an automation project, specify the trigger and expected result. For example, a WhatsApp confirmation can add an order tag; a fulfilment event can send a tracking link. Store design and this integration work can be quoted as separate phases.
Ask these questions before accepting a quote
Which page types and number of products are included?
Who supplies copy, images and the product spreadsheet?
Are the theme and app charges included or billed separately?
Which custom behaviours will be tested before launch?
What revisions, handover and support are included?
Which account access or external services must I provide?
A clear quote helps both sides agree what ready for launch means. It also lets you compare proposals without treating a larger scope as simply a more expensive version of the same job.
Plan improvements after the core store works
Start with a usable storefront and a tested order journey. If customer follow-up is the next problem, explore Shopify WhatsApp order automation and the Meta API case study. Decide who handles replies and how the team notices a failed update.
For an estimate, share your current store, representative products, required features and target timeline. I review that scope before quoting; this guide does not claim a measured Pakistan-wide price range or a guaranteed sales result.
